Director of Finance

Are you a hands-on finance leader with deep experience in the manufacturing industry? Have you been part of an ERP system transition - ideally involving SyteLine - and have a strong track record of creating and presenting impactful monthly reports to senior leadership?

Coburn Technologies is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Director of Finance to join our leadership team. This high-impact role is on-site at our South Windsor, CT headquarters and will work closely with the President and senior leaders to shape the company’s financial strategy and performance.

This role is ideal for someone who is just as comfortable producing detailed reports and financial insights as they are supporting operational improvements and participating in cross-functional initiatives like ERP transitions.

 What You’ll Do - Director of Finance

• Lead the monthly financial reporting process, ensuring timely, accurate, and actionable insights that drive executive decision-making.
   
• Guide and support the transition between ERP systems - experience with SyteLine is highly desirable - ensuring data integrity and minimal business disruption.
   
• Manage the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads; analyze and present consolidated financials to senior leadership.
   
• Identify and interpret key financial trends and variances, and translate data into practical, strategic recommendations to improve profitability.
   
• Oversee and continuously improve internal controls, financial systems, and processes to maintain accuracy and ensure compliance.
   
• Partner with manufacturing teams on cost accounting processes, including BOM accuracy, standard cost updates, and inventory valuation.
   
• Collaborate cross-functionally to drive operational efficiency, especially between finance and supply chain teams.
   
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, audits, tax filings, and maintain relationships with external accounting partners.
   
• Drive vendor management and purchasing strategy, ensuring cost-effective procurement and proper ERP system data oversight.
   
• Mentor and lead a team of finance and purchasing professionals, fostering a high-performing, accountable, and growth-focused environment.

 What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s or CPA a plus).
• 10+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing finance leadership role.
• Proven success in budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration.
• ERP proficiency (Infor SyteLine a bonus) and strong Excel skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and accountability.
• FP&A and Supply Chain a plus
